Activist/Filmmaker/Mom
I have been living with my husband and our two children in Panama City, Panama since 2008. Through volunteering at a local orphanage my eyes were opened to the challenges that children living in institutions face.
In May 2012 I produced a short documentary QUERIDO PANAMA (DEAR PANAMA) with a group of student filmmakers from Voice for the Voiceless, directed by Samuel Joseph Rich. QUERIDO PANAMA lobbied for legislation that would help get children out of orphanages and into families. Months later our short doc won an award for "Film Content" at a regional film festival.
Fast-forward to July 2013...
Law 46 passed in Panama's National Assembly, thanks partly to our documentary and the media campaign that followed. Panama is now implementing it's first ever nationwide Foster Care Program, providing vulnerable children with a family-based alternative to life in an orphanage.

Recently I was appointed the Panama Director for Hope for the Nations I love this organization because they believe in artists and support community-based care for children. My goal is to be a catalyst for change through the use of art, social media, TV and film.
